A Cold Moon and the Shortest Day
A few facts about today…
It’s December 21st and that means – Winter!
It’s the shortest day of the year which automatically translates to the longest night!
It’s the day when the Northern Hemisphere tilts furthest from the sun and decreases the amount of energy reaching the Earth.
It’s the astronomical start of the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere.
It’s extra special this year because it will be followed by the last full moon ? of 2018, known as the Cold Moon, which is accompanied (just to make us feel better) by the Ursid meteor shower.
The next Cold Moon close to the Solstice will be in 2029!
One has to conclude that there is no time like the present ?
